My new album, Just A Daydream Away is out now and available to stream on all platforms!

After half a decade of travelling, teaching, gigging and writing on the move, I’m incredibly excited to finally share something very close to my heart: my new full-length album, Just A Daydream Away.

For years, many of you have affectionately known me as the human jukebox – someone who turns up at weddings, pubs and venues to pull out hundreds of songs from memory. It’s a part of my job I love deeply. But behind the covers and the live sets, there’s always been another side of me quietly waiting for the right moment to re-emerge: the songwriter.

Today, that moment has arrived.

Three Years of Life, Travel & Creativity

Back in 2020, my wife and I made a huge decision: we sold our home, pared down our belongings, and set off with our kids on an open-ended adventure across Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and beyond. It wasn’t a holiday. It was a new way of living; teaching on the road, learning together, finding community wherever we landed.

And in the middle of that chaos and beauty, I wrote and recorded virtually everywhere we went. That’s where Just A Daydream Away was born.

Five of the twelve songs were written on location, starting in my father-in-law’s kitchen and continuing across the other side of the world. Every track carries some piece of that journey: faith, family, uncertainty, transformation, and the strange magic of uprooting everything you know to chase something new.

This album is the most personal thing I’ve ever made, not because it’s flawless (I recorded and produced every note myself), but because it’s lived-in. Real. A musical scrapbook of an unforgettable chapter in my life.

The Songs So Far

You may have already heard the first single, I’ll Bring Love, which is a song written as a message for anyone struggling with mental health, especially during the Christmas season. I never expected it to strike such a chord, and I’m grateful for every message I’ve received about it.

That was followed by The Times, the title track from my previous EP. This release comprises of four tracks that explore the important theme of forgiveness in modern society.

Each song on the album tells its own story, but together they form a sort of map: the routes we took, the lessons we learned, the things we almost lost and the things we rediscovered.

A Musical Reset

Although I’ve spent decades gigging, teaching myself new instruments, writing for various bands and playing drums for Age of Jets, this release feels different.

This time, it’s not about hunger to breakthrough or performing classics on request. This is me stepping back into doing what I love. The role that started it all: songwriter.

Maybe, in some small way, this album marks a quiet renaissance – a reminder that behind all the covers, there’s still plenty more to say.

Out Now

My new album, Just A Daydream Away is available to stream now on all major platforms.

Stay tuned for a 12″ vinyl edition. A limited run is due to be pressed early next year, which I’m really excited about.

Finally, thank you – as always – for listening, for supporting independent music, and for being part of this journey with me. I hope these songs offer something meaningful in your everyday life, just as creating them has been meaningful in mine.
